This sleek, contemporary house is located on a rural hillside on the outskirts of Santa Barbara. A concrete pile and grade beam foundation system supports the pre-fabricated steel superstructure. The architectural design called for much of the structure to remain visible, requiring close communication with the architect and fabricator to refine the concrete finish and steel connections, which resulted its open, modern aesthetic.
